I strongly believe people can find their inner strength to overcome life's challenges. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults to identify the root of their current issues and heal from the inside out. My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed therapy such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy. As your counselor, I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs and goals to help you achieve lasting positive change. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relational issues, PTSD, or other challenges. I am here to help you toward greater happiness and fulfillment.

I am a humanistic counselor with a passion for social justice, empowering
survivors of sexual trauma, and supporting the exploration of diverse experiences of queerness. I completed an 8-month training program through the Center for Relationships in
systemic sex therapy. I am also proud to have developed Pittsburgh’s first
LGBTQIA+-centered domestic violence program at the Women’s Center &
Shelter. My approach to therapy integrates person-centered, existentialist, and emotion-focused techniques. My style as a therapist is sex-positive, systems-focused, trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and gender-affirming. I specialize in addressing barriers to intimacy, attachment concerns, intimate partner violence recovery, ADHD, autism, and LGBTQIA+ issues, and work with adolescents, adults, and couples. I am deeply committed to creating a collaborative environment where clients feel seen, heard, and valued, helping them navigate their challenges and achieve personal growth.

I became a therapist because I have found that helping others is one of the greatest privileges afforded to a person. Working with people experiencing difficulty is both a passion and a calling. I do therapy through humanistic and social justice lenses that are based on the inherent worth and dignity of each person. I believe that Black Lives Matter and am committed to dismantling structural racism. I unapologetically support the full worth and dignity of LGBTQIA+ people and proudly offer gender affirming care. I reject any beliefs that limit women's roles in society or that limit access to reproductive healthcare. As a cisgender white male, I approach therapeutic interactions aware of my privilege and work to create safe, healing spaces for all people. My sense of purpose in life, what I describe as my spirituality, is directly connected to finding ways to serve others. I have a tattoo on my wrist that summarizes my philosophy of life and therapy. The tattoo is of the Japanese characters for "Kintsugi." Kintsugi is a Japanese art form that repairs broken pottery with golden solder, making the pot more valuable after it has been broken and repaired than it was when it was whole. We all have places in life where we are broken...the journey of repairing the broken places is something to be celebrated because it makes us more valuable.

I view the therapeutic relationship through a lens of meaning-making. This means acknowledging and accepting difficult past experiences and making sense of them in a way that promotes self-discovery and growth. I’m here to walk with you to explore how your past experiences impact your present and work toward a more authentic, empowered version of yourself. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, relational/family issues, and trauma. My approach draws heavily from attachment-based and psychodynamic perspectives, as I believe our early experiences deeply influence how we relate to ourselves and others. I also incorporate meditation, art, and other expressive activities in my sessions. These creative tools can support healing and foster new ways of thinking and being. I have experience working in a school-based setting as well as UPMC's Western Psychiatric Hospital and am comfortable working with children, teens, and adults of all ages. My approach is rooted in authenticity, empathy, and genuine compassion for your unique lived experience. As your therapist, I strive to create a collaborative and flexible environment where you feel safe to be your truest self in session.
